Summer Camp Blooms

Have you ever come across something so beautiful that it stopped you in your tracks, knowing it might only be there for a few days?

Every summer our cattle are moved into the Bighorn Mountains near Burgess Junction for what I call their "summer camp." The calves grow strong on the mountain grass, the cows enjoy the cool air, and the hillsides come alive with wildflowers.

Wyoming's state flower, the Indian Paintbrush, is one of my favorites. Its fiery red blooms seem to glow against the mountain meadows and rocky slopes. No matter how many times I see them, they still catch my eye.

Painted in watercolor and ink, Summer Camp Blooms celebrates these brief moments of color and beauty that appear each summer in Wyoming's high country. It is a reminder to notice the small wonders that surround us before the season changes once again.

Original watercolor and ink painting by Lyn Foley: It is 8 x 10 inches, matted to 11 x 14 inches, and and ready to frame. Carefully packaged and shipped free in the United States.
