Some stories stay with me - how about you?   This one I read in National Geographic made me pause and feel the weight and beauty of a single life.

Satyrus Effendi was painted after I read about a daughter searching for a butterfly named in honor of her father. As I worked, I felt that familiar mix of tenderness and awe — the way butterflies hold memory, change, and impermanence all at once.

Soft blush tones and deep reds move through the wings, layered with delicate linework that invites you to slow down and look closely. This painting is about noticing — about remembering that wonder often lives in the smallest, most fleeting moments.

This original watercolor measures 9.5 × 7.5 inches and is shipped matted to 11 × 14 inches, ready to frame. Painted by hand in my Wyoming studio, there is only one. Carefully packaged and shipped free within the United States.
