Red Hills Memory
Red Hills Memory - Original Watercolor Art
This wild Wyoming road is unforgettable. It challenges you with every bend and rewards you with silence, color, and sky. Red Hills Memory captures a rare place where the land itself seems to breathe.
I painted this scene from both life and memory — a view from the rugged road leading into my husband Gene’s hunting camp in the Gros Ventre wilderness. Around this particular bend, crimson and rose-colored slopes unfold into soft greens and sage shadows. That moment — when the hills seem to glow with anticipation and awe — stayed with me long after I returned to my studio.
The fires of fall 2024 have changed this land, but the spirit of it remains here: resilient, wild, and filled with beauty.
Hang this piece where you want to feel grounded and inspired — a reminder that even rough roads lead to wonder.
There is only one original — painted in watercolor and ink on archival paper in my Wyoming studio. It is 10 x 8 inches, and will be shipped free of charge, matted to 11 x 14, and ready to frame. When it’s gone, it becomes part of someone else’s story.
