One More Look | Original Peony Watercolor by Lyn Foley

There are flowers that make us smile, and then there are flowers that quietly ask us to slow down.

This peony sat on our dining room table for several June mornings. Each day it opened a little more, becoming fuller, softer, and even more captivating. I paused every time I walked by, noticing something I hadn't seen before.

Flowers give us so many gifts. They remind us that beauty isn't found only in the grand moment of full bloom, but also in the gentle unfolding along the way.

I painted One More Look as a celebration of that quiet invitation—to linger just a little longer and appreciate what might otherwise pass us by. My hope is that each time you see this painting, it offers that same quiet pause—a gentle reminder that beauty is often found in the moments we almost overlook.
