One Day of Spring
Have you ever waited for something special to arrive, only to have it disappear?
Then you may relate to this painting, inspired by a day on our Wyoming ranch this spring.
The apple trees burst into bloom, their soft pink blossoms promising another season of apples. I checked on them every day, admiring their beauty and taking photographs as spring finally seemed to have arrived.
Then winter returned, with snow and an overnight freeze. the blossoms were destroyed before they could fruit.
Inspired by those brief days between hope and disappointment, I painted this reminder to appreciate the moments that brighten our lives while they are here.
Painted in watercolor and ink, One Day of Spring captures the delicate promise of a season that arrived for only a moment before Wyoming reclaimed it.
There is only one original. It is 8 x 10 inches and matted to 11 x 1 inches, ready to frame. Carefully packed and shipped free within the United States.
